The hotel restaurant and bar for this log is currently made up of a true illusion and a light refraction illusion. Anything you can touch is solid and what you see follows with what you feel as well as the laws of physics. Aventurine has used his light refraction illusion ability mostly for tricks on the eyes to sort of make things look that much more realistic and whatnot without the illusionist having to deal with on top of the crafting the illusion itself. Basically he's doing most of the special effects, detailing, and lighting.

The Crosby Bar
info.♠ Takes place at the end of week 4 of the levitate (january 2026) event. Everyone is invited! Although there's at least one bouncer to toss you out on your head if you start a fight, feel free to do it anyway.
♠ If you want to do anything super crazy or destructive inside that's a big deal that's going to interrupt others (like a huge multi involved bar fight or trying to set the place on fire while drunk etc.) just hit me up in this toplevel to see if it's ok or not. So long as many people are ok with it and want to have fun, I don't mind selective (or total if everyone down) chaos happening!!
♠ The party is specifically in the restaurant/bar, but you're welcome to wander out into the hotel proper. You can see info on the hotel proper here. Note that only the Gallery/Drawing Room is disguised at this time outside of the restaurant and bar to look like it did pre-apocalypse. This room will have the fire going (real fire) and people are free to get a quiet break from the party. ALSO THERE IS PROBABLY A GIANT HOLE IN THE WALL TO SEE STILL, THANKS SLEEP.
♠ Aventurine is not enforcing any rules about drinking for those under 20 unless they're getting like really sick or something. All the other adults are welcome to put the law down if they like, though!
♠ To the left is a list of characters and their roles to give you an idea of what might be happening around you or who you might be able to address in your top levels/etc. I'm going to keep updating it as more characters in the network post tell Aventurine how they want to help at the party, but I also have a comment you can just oocly let me know about, too. If these people make top levels related to what they are assigned to do, I'll link that prompt on the list, too.
♠ If I forgot anything, feel free to use the questions top-level.
♠ Bring your own top levels, although Zi will be making some game specific ones for fun.

- About the Illusion:
♠ If you like, you can get a party outfit of your choice when you enter the illusion like Cinderella! Feel free to go have fun with extra special clothes if you like, too.
♠ There is both real food and alcohol/drink and then illusion food and drink/alcohol. For you to be able to enjoy the illusion food and drink/alcohol, your character needs to be willing to accept the illusion. Since characters already know it's an illusion, if they reject it on principle it won't work for them. Some of the real food is altered to taste different (aka better) than what it actually does. So if your character rejects the illusion intentionally, it will taste like it does normally. Feel free to play around with this if you want your character to fall out of the illusion and suffer a bit and then convince themselves to get back into it, whatever's most fun for you.
- Worth Noting for Illusion Setting
♠ Worth noting: most of the restaurant has been cleared out for a dance floor and stage area for people performing. Ivan will most likely be hanging out on stage regardless if he's performing since he's planning to stay around the piano. Aventurine has made sure there's plenty of room. The lights are dimmed.
♠ You can make up your own decorations, the only things that you need to be completely aware of is that are two pinatas: The Big one is made to look like Sleep, and the smaller one is made to look like One. Sleep Pinata is for everyone (you guys can break it as many times as you want, assume it goes back together after you get illusion candies;) mini One is for Toki, please cheer him on (if Toki wants to share his One pinata, go for it.) One's pinata only drops sugar-free candy. Sleep drops candy and little trinkets (they're illusions so you can't take them with you, but...)
♠ Also worth noting: There is a table set up with a name card that says EEPY. Aventurine will shoo you away if you try to mess with it, but you are free to leave gifts for Espera (like the little accessories and trinkets you got from the pinata.) There are three roses there already tied with a ribbon on the table already: a white, a pink, and a red rose.
- FINALLY, SPECIFIC STUFF TO DO
I'll add to this (with links, too), but this is mostly noting that there is a Karaoke Machine set for singing during intervals from those wanting to do live music. Sharon is charge of the karaoke machine, be nice to her or she can take it away from you. Maybe you guys can have a drunk singing competition etc.
Dolphin has various games going on in top levels. Zi will provide the rules and stuff in those.

That's not something I have to force, Jinx. [ She drags her hand down Jinx's arm and links their hands, not interlacing their fingers this time, leaving the touch loose and easy to pull away from if Jinx wants. ] We're friends, dummy. No matter what else is going on, I still want to spend time with you.
[ She doesn't mention that there's probably someone here who'd be into machine guns and writing lyrics, though she can't imagine Jinx having that kind of interest in Toki anyway. ] Come on. Maybe you missed out on a hot stud, but since we're both here, we might as well enjoy it while we can. Who knows how many more parties we'll even get?
[ For all they know, this could be their one and only real party in this hellhole. ]

jinx made a critical decision that starting tomorrow, she's going to wake up bright and early and work on everyone's orders—to stay inside her apartment walls until every little thing is fixed and completed. not to mention, silco has a mission lined up for her, which requires a lot of late-night observations. and if she is going to juggle all of these tasks, she needs to have full concentration. no more going out with friends or playing around on the headspace.
she can already hear her friends and family groaning and protesting about her choice, but she has a tether link with just about all of them. and if she does a typical ping check-in to let them know she's alive and well, then maybe that will be enough to satisfy them. jinx will miss all of them, but this is something that she has to do. she has to know for herself that not everything she touches or cares about unravels, breaks, or changes when she gets close or touches it. so this time when jinx issues a sigh, it's exaggerated and more on the playful side. ]
Ooookkaaay, you talked me into it. Your speeches are always sucking me in. Lead the way, Toots.

When Jinx finally relents with a heavy, playful sigh, the tightness in Sharon's face melts away. Her blue eyes brighten, a smile blooming in its place. ]
I knew you couldn't resist my logic! [ Re-energized, she tugs Jinx back toward the party, squeezing her hand just a bit tighter. The second they cross the threshold, her hair shifts from bleached, brassy blonde to rose gold. She shoots Jinx a glance. ] Want me to change your hair color for the night?
[ It's all illusions. It's all just play. But tonight is the night for just that kind of thing. ] I bet you'd rock blonde.

once inside and her friend turns to her, jinx braces herself for Sharon to suddenly pull her closer in an embrace, expecting a hand to graze along her cheek with jinx stammering something like, "W-Wait, but what about—," and then being silenced with a kiss. a romantic scene, she remembered vander reading to her in those storybooks before bed when she was young, and one of the many curses of having a tether is that even your imagination can be shared with the one you're connected to. so when that doesn't happen and it's sharon asking about a hair color instead, the zaunite blinks rapidly out of her daydream and sputters: ]
H-Huh? Oh, uh. No, I...like my blue.
no subject
At her answer, Sharon grins. ] I like your blue, too, but there's never any harm in trying out something new. [ She doesn't push it. In the grand scheme of things, it's nothing, just a blip in a night meant for fun. She keeps tugging her along until they reach the dance floor. There's barely enough people to crowd it, barely enough people on it at all, but she's tipsy enough for this. She draws her in, rests a hand at her hip, presses her close. Then she leans in to murmur at her ear. ]
Up for a dance, then, Bluebell? [ Maybe she's leaning too hard into it, into playing at being carefree, but that's what tonight is for. Who knows when they'll get another chance like this. ]

'it's never too late to build something new.'—oh, how they are similar in so many ways. it's no wonder why her heart thumps for them in the same rhythm. maybe in another world or life, sharon and ekko could be close friends, both fighting against the system and everything in between.
on the dance floor, and when her friend draws her near, the familiar goose pimples trickle along her forearms, and without thinking, jinx laces her arms around her friend's neck. and as the gentle tone of her voice settles at her ear once again, denial begins to nip at her heels—so ready to trip her up in its river. she should kick it off and tell it to shove off because she's not going to fall for its trickery... but the stream is tempting and intoxicating, just like sharon is and always has been. so the bluenette smiles, and her head tilts in to return the sweet whisper into hers. ]
As long as you promise to never let me walk away from this.
[ the teenager coos, raising on her tiptoes to press a gentle kiss to her earlobe, then a very quick lap of her tongue along her jawline. it's extremely fleeting—fast enough that it can't be seen by anyone else unless up close and personal. ]

Heat floods Sharon's cheeks, red creeping up to her ears beneath the spill of rose-gold hair. She clicks her tongue anyway, playful despite herself. ] Promise, but you play a dangerous game, Jinx. [ She says, grin fully intact. It was a daring move in front of so many people, and even knowing most eyes wouldn't be on them, the fact that someone could be—
—well, it's as thrilling as it is heartstopping.
She spins Jinx into a twirl, then pulls her close again, one hand settling at her waist as if it has always belonged there. ]

she had to say goodbye to ekko, her almost lover in runeterra and now she has to say goodbye to sharon, her hopeless dream. jinx had joked about how she had to become the new janna, and that she had to fill her shoes and embrace all the wonders and hardships of a wind goddess. she never asked for the role and didn't want to be the symbol of hope for her people. but it was "bestowed upon" her despite the protests and tantrums, and who knows? maybe the next victim that jinx passes this to will do the same. it's a shit job that nobody wants.]
[ because whether she believed the woman existed or not, sometimes she wonders if this was something she had to go through, too—to be cursed to roam aimlessly in the world for centuries at a time and never have something the mortals can experience, like family, friendship, or love. not when their lifespans are so short and she lives for thousands.
and as jinx twirls and gets drawn close, the bluenette leans more to rest her head against her partner as they sway. her thoughts drift to the mural her people had painted for her and their city—it bleeds through the tether for sharon to see for a moment or two before it vanishes.
if this party is all for fun and games and for illusions to just be, why not humor herself? so jinx tugs away from their close waltz, her everyday dull pinks now glistening vibrantly as her casual wear and hair coil into something new. the appearance isn't how her people would have envisioned for her, but it's how jinx would see herself if she had to be the true wind goddess. ]
