♠ Takes place at the end of week 4 of the levitate (january 2026) event. Everyone is invited! Although there's at least one bouncer to toss you out on your head if you start a fight, feel free to do it anyway.
♠ If you want to do anything super crazy or destructive inside that's a big deal that's going to interrupt others (like a huge multi involved bar fight or trying to set the place on fire while drunk etc.) just hit me up in this toplevel to see if it's ok or not. So long as many people are ok with it and want to have fun, I don't mind selective (or total if everyone down) chaos happening!!
♠ The party is specifically in the restaurant/bar, but you're welcome to wander out into the hotel proper. You can see info on the hotel proper here. Note that only the Gallery/Drawing Room is disguised at this time outside of the restaurant and bar to look like it did pre-apocalypse. This room will have the fire going (real fire) and people are free to get a quiet break from the party. ALSO THERE IS PROBABLY A GIANT HOLE IN THE WALL TO SEE STILL, THANKS SLEEP.
♠ Aventurine is not enforcing any rules about drinking for those under 20 unless they're getting like really sick or something. All the other adults are welcome to put the law down if they like, though!
♠ To the left is a list of characters and their roles to give you an idea of what might be happening around you or who you might be able to address in your top levels/etc. I'm going to keep updating it as more characters in the network post tell Aventurine how they want to help at the party, but I also have a comment you can just oocly let me know about, too. If these people make top levels related to what they are assigned to do, I'll link that prompt on the list, too.

♠ Bring your own top levels, although Zi will be making some game specific ones for fun.

The hotel restaurant and bar for this log is currently made up of a true illusion and a light refraction illusion. Anything you can touch is solid and what you see follows with what you feel as well as the laws of physics. Aventurine has used his light refraction illusion ability mostly for tricks on the eyes to sort of make things look that much more realistic and whatnot without the illusionist having to deal with on top of the crafting the illusion itself. Basically he's doing most of the special effects, detailing, and lighting.

About the Illusion:

♠ If you like, you can get a party outfit of your choice when you enter the illusion like Cinderella! Feel free to go have fun with extra special clothes if you like, too.

♠ There is both real food and alcohol/drink and then illusion food and drink/alcohol. For you to be able to enjoy the illusion food and drink/alcohol, your character needs to be willing to accept the illusion. Since characters already know it's an illusion, if they reject it on principle it won't work for them. Some of the real food is altered to taste different (aka better) than what it actually does. So if your character rejects the illusion intentionally, it will taste like it does normally. Feel free to play around with this if you want your character to fall out of the illusion and suffer a bit and then convince themselves to get back into it, whatever's most fun for you.

Worth Noting for Illusion Setting

♠ Worth noting: most of the restaurant has been cleared out for a dance floor and stage area for people performing. Ivan will most likely be hanging out on stage regardless if he's performing since he's planning to stay around the piano. Aventurine has made sure there's plenty of room. The lights are dimmed.

♠ You can make up your own decorations, the only things that you need to be completely aware of is that are two pinatas: The Big one is made to look like Sleep, and the smaller one is made to look like One. Sleep Pinata is for everyone (you guys can break it as many times as you want, assume it goes back together after you get illusion candies;) mini One is for Toki, please cheer him on (if Toki wants to share his One pinata, go for it.) One's pinata only drops sugar-free candy. Sleep drops candy and little trinkets (they're illusions so you can't take them with you, but...)

♠ Also worth noting: There is a table set up with a name card that says EEPY. Aventurine will shoo you away if you try to mess with it, but you are free to leave gifts for Espera (like the little accessories and trinkets you got from the pinata.) There are three roses there already tied with a ribbon on the table already: a white, a pink, and a red rose.

FINALLY, SPECIFIC STUFF TO DO

I'll add to this (with links, too), but this is mostly noting that there is a Karaoke Machine set for singing during intervals from those wanting to do live music. Sharon is charge of the karaoke machine, be nice to her or she can take it away from you. Maybe you guys can have a drunk singing competition etc.

Dolphin has various games going on in top levels. Zi will provide the rules and stuff in those.

Mostly this would be your character is helping Aventurine out in some way with some kinda of responsibility or duty. Above list so far has examples.

But personally, I'd set boundaries for 'dares' juust in case.

Anndd! To up the stakes, I highly suggest settling on some kinda punishment for backing out on a 'dare' or lying in a 'truth'! Taking a shot, removal of a piece of clothing, owing someone a favor later, or whatever my dear guests would like to do. ♡

posting under this header means that your character will be stepping in as a dealer for a table, and players will tag in and will be betting against YOU!
- so if you want to deal, why not! go for it! describe a lil scene if you want (optional), what kinda games you're even interested in dealing for and have at it. just give people a way to tag in and say they want to play with you!
- if you want to deal for a specific person in a closed thread, just specify somewhere on your post!
BLACKJACK: if you're in the player-run SOMNIA discord, feel free to use the ?drawcard command because we all love excuses to roll some dice. my only ask is that we keep the bot spam somewhere contained as to not drown out discussion if possible.
POKER: em found a pokerhand generator that could be used for this too!

[ Someone grab a flamethrower, the stage is infested with the biggest bug anyone's ever seen!

He's very polite however, here in a smart white turtleneck with enough sleeves for all six of his arms. They're currently enabling him to concoct more complicated melodies than a mere two hands could dream of; he's his own accompaniment. That said, his being here is to act as back-up for the more bombastic artists, if not provide an intermission between them. He doesn't gain anything from nor even necessarily want the attention, just something unobtrusive to do whilst he's here.

Cue idle renditions of "classic" Earth songs he thinks the current crowd are more likely to know.

It may have something to do with his big, black-shelled body, but he really won't leave the stage at all, sooner attempting to get someone else's attention when he needs something. Something to drink, something to nibble on, some of those sweet, sweet-looking winnings from the piñatas.

And the supplicating smile he wields is masterful. ]

[Toki's helped to set up some of the equipment, a few amps he's been dragging around all over the place now set up here to get some proper distortion going. He's also got a little electronic keyboard playing some generic rhythms because he doesn't have a drummer. When it's his turn to play, he's playing some of Dethklok's greatest hits, like Go Into The Water or I Tamper With The Evidence At the Murder Site of Odin, or maybe some of his own work.

He's also got a nice, fresh song he's been working on here. His death growl's a little more high pitched than most, but he's doing his best.]

[Apparently someone's really pissed him off. Still... he does seem approachable between songs and after his set and stuff.

[It's not hard to figure out who's got him so grumpy when he's not playing the guitar or doing other party activities. The piñata was certainly a fun surprise, and Toki's all for knocking the stuffing out of that asshole. Yes, One has apparently been a douchebag, pissing Toki off immensely. At first, he was mostly sad and worried about it, but now the anger's truly had some time to simmer.

And he's got a fucking stick, and he's beating the crap out of him in effigy.]

But he can't avoid Caelus forever, nor would he want to, and the bar makes him an even trickier presence to skirt around, so...here he is. A little more tired than usual, a few new scars on his face, but he is Trying, because he doesn't want to give people even more reasons to worry.
