The hotel restaurant and bar for this log is currently made up of a true illusion and a light refraction illusion. Anything you can touch is solid and what you see follows with what you feel as well as the laws of physics. Aventurine has used his light refraction illusion ability mostly for tricks on the eyes to sort of make things look that much more realistic and whatnot without the illusionist having to deal with on top of the crafting the illusion itself. Basically he's doing most of the special effects, detailing, and lighting.

The Crosby Bar
info.♠ Takes place at the end of week 4 of the levitate (january 2026) event. Everyone is invited! Although there's at least one bouncer to toss you out on your head if you start a fight, feel free to do it anyway.
♠ If you want to do anything super crazy or destructive inside that's a big deal that's going to interrupt others (like a huge multi involved bar fight or trying to set the place on fire while drunk etc.) just hit me up in this toplevel to see if it's ok or not. So long as many people are ok with it and want to have fun, I don't mind selective (or total if everyone down) chaos happening!!
♠ The party is specifically in the restaurant/bar, but you're welcome to wander out into the hotel proper. You can see info on the hotel proper here. Note that only the Gallery/Drawing Room is disguised at this time outside of the restaurant and bar to look like it did pre-apocalypse. This room will have the fire going (real fire) and people are free to get a quiet break from the party. ALSO THERE IS PROBABLY A GIANT HOLE IN THE WALL TO SEE STILL, THANKS SLEEP.
♠ Aventurine is not enforcing any rules about drinking for those under 20 unless they're getting like really sick or something. All the other adults are welcome to put the law down if they like, though!
♠ To the left is a list of characters and their roles to give you an idea of what might be happening around you or who you might be able to address in your top levels/etc. I'm going to keep updating it as more characters in the network post tell Aventurine how they want to help at the party, but I also have a comment you can just oocly let me know about, too. If these people make top levels related to what they are assigned to do, I'll link that prompt on the list, too.
♠ If I forgot anything, feel free to use the questions top-level.
♠ Bring your own top levels, although Zi will be making some game specific ones for fun.

Anything you can touch is solid and what you see follows with what you feel as well as the laws of physics. - About the Illusion:
♠ If you like, you can get a party outfit of your choice when you enter the illusion like Cinderella! Feel free to go have fun with extra special clothes if you like, too.
♠ There is both real food and alcohol/drink and then illusion food and drink/alcohol. For you to be able to enjoy the illusion food and drink/alcohol, your character needs to be willing to accept the illusion. Since characters already know it's an illusion, if they reject it on principle it won't work for them. Some of the real food is altered to taste different (aka better) than what it actually does. So if your character rejects the illusion intentionally, it will taste like it does normally. Feel free to play around with this if you want your character to fall out of the illusion and suffer a bit and then convince themselves to get back into it, whatever's most fun for you.
- Worth Noting for Illusion Setting
♠ Worth noting: most of the restaurant has been cleared out for a dance floor and stage area for people performing. Ivan will most likely be hanging out on stage regardless if he's performing since he's planning to stay around the piano. Aventurine has made sure there's plenty of room. The lights are dimmed.
♠ You can make up your own decorations, the only things that you need to be completely aware of is that are two pinatas: The Big one is made to look like Sleep, and the smaller one is made to look like One. Sleep Pinata is for everyone (you guys can break it as many times as you want, assume it goes back together after you get illusion candies;) mini One is for Toki, please cheer him on (if Toki wants to share his One pinata, go for it.) One's pinata only drops sugar-free candy. Sleep drops candy and little trinkets (they're illusions so you can't take them with you, but...)
♠ Also worth noting: There is a table set up with a name card that says EEPY. Aventurine will shoo you away if you try to mess with it, but you are free to leave gifts for Espera (like the little accessories and trinkets you got from the pinata.) There are three roses there already tied with a ribbon on the table already: a white, a pink, and a red rose.
- FINALLY, SPECIFIC STUFF TO DO
I'll add to this (with links, too), but this is mostly noting that there is a Karaoke Machine set for singing during intervals from those wanting to do live music. Sharon is charge of the karaoke machine, be nice to her or she can take it away from you. Maybe you guys can have a drunk singing competition etc.
Dolphin has various games going on in top levels. Zi will provide the rules and stuff in those.

Its...name is Cheese?
[ Despite his mostly decent English, he's not hip to the photography slang. ]
no subject
At the same time, he's ruffling his hair a little. Just a little, not needing it to get messed up for their party! A small laugh follows after Megumi's question. ]
Cheese, as in the saying, "Say Cheese!" Because saying it vocally makes you naturally smile.

[ His English was mostly from textbooks and the classroom, not so much suited for what people say in casual situations. ]
I've never seen a camera that floats, either.

You haven't? What's the technology level like in Japan?
[ It's a little hard for Caelus to imagine without context since he's from a highly-advanced universe with incredible developments, especially in the technological aspects… ]
Anyway, what'll it be for you?
no subject
[ Those feel like the easiest measures to give a general idea, probably...
But as for the drinks -- ]
I'm not actually sure what all you have. [ Probably a pretty eclectic mix of stuff, given their supply issues. And he doesn't exactly have the experience to know what a lot of the options are like, either way, so he figures it's probably easiest to name flavors he likes and let Caelus do what he will with it? ] Do you have anything that's...gingery, I guess?
no subject
And how far does technology advance per hundred years? The calendar is entirely different in his universe. Curiosity is present within Caelus's tether, remaining with a good expression as he listens with interest. ]
I see. I've been through planets that are a little underdeveloped, but this is still fascinating to me. For the record, my universe uses the calendar system called "Amber Era." The Astral Express also has our own called "Trailblaze Calendar" to keep a better track of our journeys, as the passage of time is different across different planets.
[ The differences of each planet will forever be amusing to someone like Caelus. He's always looking forward to exploring new cultures, no matter how unfamiliar or familiar they may be. And there's a small giggle to follow Megumi's request for ginger. Ah, of course. Caelus hasn't forgotten. ]
Leave it to me, then.
[ Now… Considering Megumi's personality and preferences, Caelus knows he should pick something with a punch. Ginger already has a gentle kick by itself, but he recalls that the young man has a liking for strong spicy flavors. So, he decides to raise the flavor kick. It might also help the young man loosen up for the party.
These thoughts run through the trailblazer's mind as he drops relevant bottles on the counter, the pleasing sounds of glass clinking per second. The process is so streamlined, even though he hasn't practiced for any of this. But he still clearly remembers his past time bartending, so it's quite evident with his smooth gestures— from the measuring and pouring, down to the shaking and flipping. The cocktail shaker spins eyecatchingly, his fingers barely on it unless he restarts the spin. Once done, the drink is poured into a chilled glass cup, ice clinking around, and slid over. ]
Your jalapeño ginger ale mocktail, sir.
no subject
You look like you've had a lot of practice with that.
no subject
[ Doing this once more brings back a lot of memories. But it also makes him miss home again… ]
no subject
It's good.

[ He places a small bowl of dried fruits. It should help balance some of that intense heat. ]

Thanks.
You're not going to be stuck tending bar all night, are you?
no subject
That depends on everyone here. If they keep drinking, then I guess I have to.
Ah, but that doesn't mean I'll keep serving the drunks. I'll reject their orders at some point, if they're becoming too intoxicated or if I personally feel there are safety concerns.
[ For their own damn sake. Safety concerns can vary. Health issues aside, it could also be related to behavior. Drunks do tend to cause trouble, after all. ]
