Getting out on her own

What: A little scavenging trip in random places

[Maki was doing her best to figure things out in this place. Like everyone in this place, she didn't like it, but at least she had a few people that she knew here. She hadn't stuck around for long. There was just something here that kept her from staying too long, but she always circled back to check on people. The few she still actually cared for but wouldn't actually admit it.

Supplies were hard to come by in this place, where ever it might be, so she went out to see what she could find. She honestly had no clue what she was going to find or really even where she was going, but she had to do it.]

( Ko's been here a while and he's pretty much in the same boat as Maki; he doesn't think he'll ever get used to this place, really. He's going through some boxes in an old bodega, singing to himself. )

[Hearing the song made her stop where she was. She listened for a moment and then began to follow it.]

Hello?

Oh! Ah, hi.

( There's a brief pause and then a little crash as he drops one of the boxes. )

I'm over here. I mean you no harm.

( Probably, anyway. Not that he could do much in the first place. )

[She makes her way over.]

I heard you singing.

[exaltruistic]

I hope it wasn't bothersome ...

( He looks her over; what a striking appearance. Ko himself looks something like an angel, with a few pairs of big, white wings and a general bright aura about him. )

Are you looking for something? Or someone?

Just seeing what I can find. That singing could be dangerous. You don't know who I am or what i really might want.

[She's not a total monster and isn't going to attack him, but she can't help but criticize a little bit.]

( That much is true. Ko visibly deflates a little. )

I know. It's unfortunate, and might sound weird, but I have a ... biological need to sing. At least these wings can carry me away.

( He gestures to the boxes. )

I'm not finding too much, but there's some hygiene supplies in here if you also need them.

[Interesting. She didn't know anything about that, but she doesn't anything about anyone in this place besides Megumi.]

I'm not a total monster. Let me know if you need help moving something.

[She's stronger than she looks.]

What's your name? I'm Ko.

( He gestures, then, to the back; there's some heavy debris that's fallen in front of a door. Too much for him to move, certainly, but Maki might be able to. )

I was hoping to move that shelf that fell down over there, actually ... I think something good might be in the room behind it.

Maki.

[She looks the debris in front of the door and moves over to it.

While she might not have her full strength from back home, she isn't without something. She carefully positions herself and begins to clear smaller things before she works on the large shelf.

She can't get it in one go, but she can begin to break it into smaller parts and toss them aside.]

( Ko starts to help, clearing away the smaller parts and putting them a few yards away as she breaks them down. Just to get them gone. He can handle the littler things, at least. )

[It takes a while, but eventually the door is clear.]

Stand back.

[She kicks at the door behind the debris. It splinters as she kicks at it.]

( He stands back, impressed at her stamina and strength. He kinda wishes he was stronger too, sometimes.

Behind the door will be various supplies and clothes. Not a jackpot or anything, but still pretty nice to come across. )

[ Hello, strong-looking lady! There's a stone golem--literally, all stone, all golem, over six foot in height, that might not look like something to approach when you round that one corner down a street...

But oh, too late, because it's noticed you! And waves. Hi! ]

[ The golem: surprisingly friendly sounding! ]
