who: Theseus and whoever
what: Ancient man has his first real introduction to the modern world
when: Post Rat King fight
where: The Crosby St Hotel and surrounding area, certain buildings (McDonalds)

Inside the Hotel
For criticisms that Theseus aimed at his worldly accommodations (all meant constructively, for Theseus never stood for idle chatter, even if he left the construction for others more suited), he was always comparing it to a palace. Theseus knew many palaces, from the ones which dotted the coastline of Greece and housed his direct and extended family, to the architecture of the Underworld that could be seen in Elysium, or even the fearsome fortress that is the House of Hades, which is inarguably a grand building even if it never excited him to venture there. The location is simply much too much deep, too far from anything a human might know to be a place for a Shade.

But Theseus never had much thought about the basics. The fireplace is comparable to the foundational hearth found in homes everywhere,  and fuel and lamps are simple inescapable realities for life at at night. It didn't occur to him to expect any different.

In the aftermath of the incident in the tunnels, though, Theseus returned to nothing but differences, to the point where it is hard from him to tell what is the same.

Theseus prowls the entirety of the many tiered and chambered building with a hurried yet aimless energy, like an animal in his enclosure. His attention is split, but he pays particular notice to the light scones mounted on the walls, the bell of the automatic doors, the newfound details which have arrived with the hotel's awakening.

Or he might be in the kitchen, inspecting the appliances. For the first time, because although he could have entered earlier, Theseus found this room uninteresting until now. It is highly improved when he can hit whatever button he pleases and have it move or whir. Whatever the function or the process he just set off, Theseus watches the machine do it with a curious focus.

Out on the Streets
If asked which city is the best, or any superlative at all, Theseus will always answer with Athens. As the vanguard of civilization's advance, its incomparable status in culture and knowledge naturally follows. The treasures it holds will simply not be found in any other.

His answer has not changed, but Theseus might have more questions about what else is out there. He refrains from staring wide-eyed, for it's hardly practical to walk with his neck bent, but he cannot help himself from occasionally hanging just a moment too long, with incredulous wonder.

There is another place which he must check up on. A place which was once promised to him as the site of the greatest culinary delights to have ever existed.

While it is some distance away, Theseus has no problem finding it with the description he was given. The doors open for him, like the obsequious moving doors Theseus has seen at the Hotel. He takes the invitation to step inside, surveying the current progress of Lucifer's restoration work.

[The power was on and the floors were clean- this was an excellent start, given the ruins that the whole of Manhattan had been when Lucifer awoke in the back office all of those months ago.

It was far from perfect- this was a one man job and it was only recently that they had water and power restored. The tables and booths were at least clean and clear to sit on, if not recently dusted, and the flat screen monitors that dotted the front of the shop displayed a flickering blue on the front panels. The menu above the register where payment was supposed to be tendered glowed in a similar state-

And behind the counter was the Angel himself, manually hauling a box of what looked to be round plush toys and other assorted figures still in their plastic wrappers, up to be stored under the counter.

The flourescent lights buzzed and flickered overhead. Lucifer, having heard Theseus enter, stopped and looked up in surprise.]

Oh. It's you.

[He just stared, quietly panicking. He was not prepared for sudden visitors!]

The building can't be that interesting, can it?

( a voice that seemingly materializes out of nothing, heralding the presence of that nosy little thing that can't seem to help but stop and fall right at his side, stance and pose mimicked as if it'll help illuminate what makes this one particularly nice to look at.

it doesn't, but she really was hoping to find something that might've caused some form of draw-in effect, like a charm or a sigil of some kind. but she supposes it's a cool building, too!

What are we looking at anywayy?

Sirius had felt the same sense of wonder when he was first stranded on Earth two years ago. Nothing would ever replace the steampunk, arabesque castles of Althiya in his heart, but he was still amazed at how far the world had come. He watched Theseus with a faint nostalgic smile.

"It's incredible how much the city has transformed isn't it?"

Dude- that-

[Urushihara dramatically flopped over onto the lower counter, flustered and unsure of how to fix this.]

[And-

He grabbed one of the plush toys and started waving it, as if it were a flag of surrender.]

I told ya, man. I'm not that great of a cook- and I can't make you burgers if there's no burgers.
